Re-Membering Ourselves as Neighbors: Answering Islamophobia & Living Into the Beloved Community
We have forgotten how to recognize other human beings, how valuable human beings are, and so have lost a part of our own humanity. But we don’t have to live this way. We can re-member ourselves as neighbors: being more true to our faith traditions, the US Constitution and to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Since the beginning of NIF, we have led over 60 public events with over 8,000 people in attendance in which we created space for Muslim voices to be heard. Terry has taught at over 65 churches, community groups, and governmental agencies. Most recently, Terry presented at the Washington State Annual Judicial Conference. NIF is participating in the creation of a national strategy to combat Islamophobia with national and regional partners.
